In today’s world it’s very easy to get distracted. I have to laugh because as I’m typing, my phone is lighting up to notify me of a response on a Facebook post...Distraction!
Distractions add more to our To-Do Lists, leaving us overwhelmed and stressed.
Fitness and nutrition distractions might look like this:
- I need to add another day of cardio.
- I need to stretch more.
- I need to lift heavier weights
- I need to lift lighter weights for more repetitions.
- I need to take ice baths for inflammation.
- I need to take turmeric.
- I need to drink green tea.
- I need to stop eating carbs and go Keto.
- I need to try intermittent fasting.
- I need to eliminate meat and go all plant-based because that documentary said so.
There will always be more…
More “proven” methods…
More shiny objects…
More miraculous herbs and superfoods…
But, more isn’t better. A healthy lifestyle at a weight you are happy with is about doing less things better.
- I Do Not eat after 7pm.
- I Do Not eat fried foods because it makes my stomach feel terrible.
- I Do Not hit snooze because I’m not someone who skips workouts.
- I Do Not let others sabotage my hard work and effort.
The last thing we need is a longer list of things to do.
Instead, let’s make a “Do Not Do List”
Just jot down a few non-negotiable habits that you are going to give your full focus. Post your Do Not Do List in a few places to remind you of their importance. Now get to work.
I’d love to hear one thing on your non-negotiable Do Not Do List.
Keep moving,
Coach Dom
