Carbs and fats. They are the two primary fuel sources for the body.

When we repeatedly overload our body with too much fuel, the body will begin to store the energy for later use in the form of fat.


Stopping the process of overloading our body with fuel starts with awareness.

Once we are aware of our food choices, we can then become more mindful about our fuel sources - carbs and fats.


You want to think of your carbohydrate and fat intake like a dimmer switch that moves in opposite directions.

Carbs go up, fats have to come down…fats go up, carbs have to come down.


Beware of the “carb-fat combos”

Ice cream, cheese burgers, pizza, chips, french fries...

These are all foods that are high carb + high fat.

They are easy to over consume (sometimes designed in a lab to be over-consumed).

Carb-fat combos don’t exist naturally.


Start with mindful eating and using the dimmer switch approach to carbs and fats. You’ll create better energy balance and eliminate the overflow of fuel, which will allow you to stabilize your weight.
