If nutrition was a class in school and I was the teacher, this would be my grading criteria:

A.

  • Plans out their meals for the week.
  • They eat until they are satisfied and not stuffed.
  • The majority of the food they eat is unprocessed and consists of lean meats, fiber-rich vegetables and fruits, legumes, whole grains, nuts and seeds.
  • Fiber intake is good due to plenty of vegetables, fruits and legumes.
  • Whole grains and potatoes are part of their diet, but portions are controlled.
  • They drink plenty of water throughout the day – 80oz or more.
  • Rarely skips or misses a meal.
  • Majority of their meals are prepared at home.
  • Dines out maybe once a week.
  • Enjoys desserts, sweets, bread and alcohol, but has created an environment that keeps exposure minimal and in small amounts.

D.

  • Doesn’t have any idea what they are eating until that meal actually occurs.
  • Has a breakfast consisting of 3 cups of coffee.
  • Vegetable and fruit intake is very low.
  • Lunch is always fast food or at a restaurant.
  • Drinks a lot of their calories -sodas, sugary beverages and alcohol.
  • Eats large portioned dinners containing lots of pastas and meats. Frozen entrees, takeout, and curbside pick-up are very common.
  • Rarely cooks.
  • Late night snacking is a nightly ritual.
  • Uses lots of dressings, dips, sauces, dressings and mayonnaise.

A ‘B’ student will demonstrate plenty of qualities of an A student, but will drift towards a C/D grade every so often.

A ‘C’ Student is inconsistent from day to day, which balances out to a mediocre grade.

And the only difference between a D and F is the F student drinks diet cokes!

You may think grades come down to discipline, willpower and self-control.

They don’t.

People who score an 'A' simply put more effort into controlling their environment.

They control the outcome by reducing exposure to high calorie meals easy to over consume.

They set aside time to plan and prepare.

Unfortunately, we can’t cruise through nutrition school with a D, then ace the final that’s worth 50% of the grade and end up with a B. We’ve all tried.

But, you know what you can do in nutrition school?

Cheat, borrow and steal!

You can cheat and bring up your grade by looking over the shoulder of the A student and do exactly what they’re doing.

You can steal the lesson plan from the teacher.

You can borrow ‘belief’ that you can improve your nutrition and health from a tutor and study group made up of your peers until you believe in yourself.

But, you still have to put in some work.

So, if you are willing to do a little work, our next Nutrition Upgrade Starts 9/19.

During the nutrition upgrade, you’ll have tutors (Me and my coaches).

You’ll have a group of study buddies, who will make improving your nutrition grade more fun.

You’ll have the exact lesson plan you need to improve your grade.

You’ll have the accountability from your coaches to make sure improvement is taking place.

You’ll have help when you need to work through roadblocks that are affecting your grade.

And when the program is over, you’ll be rewarded with a slimmer waistline, a positive outlook and the confidence and skills to maintain your new body with better nutrition.

YOU are worth it!

Keep moving,

Coach Dom
