One of the worst things you can do is compare yourself to someone else.
We are all on different fitness paths and we didn’t start at the same time, so comparing your beginning to someone's middle or end does not work.
Who cares if someone is lifting 10x more weight than you or running X distance in X time. That doesn’t mean they are 10x more successful than you are.
Despite what social media may tell you.
Look, in my experience, the people who say the most on social media are often the ones who are doing the least.
Don’t believe it.
Don’t try to live up to it.
Just do you and you’ll be fine.
Now, I’m all for admiring someone's progress or success. This can be motivating if you have similar goals. If this is the case, I would get to know this person and learn their daily habits. I’m sure you will pick up valuable nuggets of wisdom that will help you on your journey.
But whatever you do, don’t ever compare yourself to someone else.
It’s an insult to you. :-)
Keep moving,
Coach Dom
