This is one of the best exercises you should do to build strong abs, improve posture, and full body strength.

Loaded Carries

Your core/midsection consists of four layers of abdominal walls that criss-cross your midsection and work together to support your spine, prevent back pain, improve posture, and help you execute daily activities safely.

We want to train in this area with purpose…and the most purposeful exercise on the planet is loaded carries. 

What is a Loaded Carry?

Grab a heavy weight and hold it for time or carry it for distance. I said heavy!

If you can walk around with it for a minute, it’s not heavy enough. 

Why loaded carry’s?

  • They are very easy to learn and safe. 

  • They don’t flex, twist or put the spine in a bad position. 

  • They create and teach full body tension, helping protect the spine and joints from injury.

  • We pick up and carry things every day, so they are important. 

  • They improve grip strength which is a great indicator of vitality and low mortality.

  • They work a lot of musculature at once.
